Safety

Markit!'s Approach to Safety

Markit! is committed to safety and quality on every project — everyday. Markit! employs a full-time Safety Coordinator who is supported by field safety professionals and our project staff. Collectively, this team implements our safety program, drives our safety culture, and is responsible for Markit!’s low Workers Compensation Insurance Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.71. Markit! implements and maintains complete accident prevention and safety training programs. We use continual feedback from our employees to augment and improve our safety processes and procedures.

Markit!’s safety policies provide a high standard of health and safety maintenance throughout all operations, ensuring that no employee works under conditions which are hazardous, unsanitary, or a threat to the public. Markit!’s Safety Coordinator prepares a project-specific OSHA-compliant Project Safety Management Plan (PSMP) and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) compliant Traffic Control Plan for each project based on contract specifications and any subsequent project scope changes.

Markit! understands and has extensive experience working under the various Industrial Fire Plans across the southwestern United States. All equipment on our projects have the required fire suppression equipment and fire tools onboard at all times. In addition to the fire tools located on each machine, Markit! has a tool cache or fire box with additional fire tools on site should enhanced suppression efforts be needed.

Everyone from senior management to the general worker is responsible for their own health and safety and that of their coworkers. By accepting mutual responsibility to operate safely, we contribute to the well-being of our employees and the success of our client’s projects. This commitment provides a firm foundation for Markit! to safely execute our operations.
