Post-Fire Rehabilitation
The aftermath of large forest fires creates a number of challenges, including the need to remove hazardous trees, the need to salvage trees for end-market products, and the need to prevent flooding and soil erosion.
Following the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado in 2012, Markit! Forestry undertook a number of Post-Fire Rehabilitation projects. Markit! Forestry has salvaged burned trees for end-market use, has removed hazardous trees, and has installed log erosion barriers (LEBs) and other flood mitigation structures.
